Studies in Commission
Commission I: The Atelier
This commission was conceived as a personal 'atelier'—a private gallery for a curated collection of fine timepieces and jewelry. The owner required not just steadfast security, but a daily ritual of selection and presentation.
At the heart of the sanctuary, four German-made watch winders operate in silent, precise harmony. Below, a series of custom-designed drawers are configured with specific compartments for pens, rings, bracelets, and necklaces. Upon opening, a warm, diffused inner light automatically illuminates the collection, transforming the act of choosing an accessory into a moment of private luxury.
Commission II: The Sentinel
The commission for 'The Sentinel' was born from a need for ultimate security and absolute discretion. Standing two meters tall, its purpose was to be an unassuming yet formidable presence in a private estate. The main sanctuary was configured with a series of reinforced shelves, designed to house custom jewelry compartments and other valuables.
The true innovation, however, lies hidden. Concealed within the main door is a secondary, private vault—an armory accessible only after the outer sanctuary is opened. This discreet compartment, complete with a custom gun rack and stand, perfectly embodies the owner's need for layered, intelligent security.
Commission III: The Dyad
Created to stand as sentinels in their respective offices, each safe shares the same formidable structure, featuring two reinforced shelves and a private upper compartment secured by the owner's individual fingerprint.
Their individuality is expressed through colour. One is finished in pristine white lacquer, opening to reveal an interior of rich royal blue. Its twin, a statement in charcoal, opens to a flash of emerald green. Together, they are a testament to a shared legacy and the power of individual vision.
Commission IV: The Sixteen
For a discerning client returning for his third commission, the request was one of ambitious scale and uncompromising detail.
The vision was to create a master repository for an extensive and growing collection of automatic timepieces.
At the heart of this sanctuary are sixteen individual, German-made watch winders, each programmable to the specific needs of the timepiece it houses. Below, a cascade of seven custom-fitted drawers provides dedicated storage for jewelry and other precious articles, supplemented by two reinforced shelves.
The interior of the door, finished in stitched quilted fabric, is personalized with a verse of The Holy Quran.
